Groupe Silicomp joins effort with Mandrakesoft to target the embedded OpenSource market

Groupe Silicomp and Mandrakesoft join their efforts starting today to target the embedded systems market at wide: automobile, payment terminals, household electronics, industrial or medical equipments, defense systems, etc. As many sectors of concern to everybody.
This alliance aims at reducing development and exploitation's costs through a longer software lifetime. It also allows more independence from software suppliers. On top of this, it matches the current move of customers who want to benefit from Open Source software's benefits.
The offer provides a version of the Mandrakelinux distribution, development tools, and the necessary customization to the customer's environment. This way, users will receive a version of the very popular Linux operating system totally in line with their expectations.
What makes this agreement unique is the quality of Mandrakesoft, a recognized worlwide Linux distributor, and strong player of the Open Source community, and Groupe Silicomp's performance in services for embedded environments. The Grenoble (France) based IT Solution Provider, handles portation, optimization, and industrial validation of the Mandrakesoft's solution.
