Consolidated revenue for the third quarter of the 2001/2002 fiscal year (April-June 2002) totalled 1.6MEUR -- an increase of 33% compared to the same period of the previous year -- allowing Mandriva to reach its all-time highest quarter since the company's inception.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, consolidated revenue increased by 36% -- higher than any previous complete fiscal year (12 months 3.55MEUR).

This increase in revenue was accomplished during an unfavorable economic climate when the revenue of competitors is mostly decreasing or stabilizing.

The company's growth is mainly due to the success of new revenue lines: Mandriva Store, OEM and the Mandriva Linux Users Club totalled 35% of the 3rd quarter revenue. Variations in quarterly revenue are due to the release cycle of the Mandriva Linux distribution: one release every 6 months (Mandriva Linux 8.2 in April 2002) generates most of the related revenues in the 1st quarter of its life cycle.

This increase in revenue combined with company-wide reduction of operating expenses should result in a significant decrease of operating losses for the 3rd quarter compared to the same period of the previous year. The 3rd quarter results will be given in an upcoming announcement.
